Once again Palatka and the surrounding communities of Putnam County are fortunate to have a local full-time neurologist to treat patients. Fawzi Elsagga, MD is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology also at the University of Florida, where he also served as a resident teacher and researcher. Dr. Elsagga is a member of the American Association of Neurology. Dr. Elsagga is the director of Putnam Neurology Associates.

Dr. Elsagga grew up in a large family in Panama City, Florida. His love of fishing and the outdoors made his choice to practice neurology in Palatka an easy one.

Dr. Elsagga chose to practice Neurology because of the everyday challenges a neurology practice brings. He considers the new neurological advances in stroke treatment very exciting. Even in just the past four years, the treatment of strokes that Dr. Elsagga has learned and researched has come a very long way.

As the only Putnam County Medical Center affiliated neurologist, Dr. Elsagga has the resources available for immediate care. Patients will not be automatically sent to another hospital. This saves time which is extremely important in treating stroke victims.

Dr. Elsagga will also give Palatka and Putnam County another resource to treat other neurological conditions such as migraine headaches, seizures, dementia, concussions, pain syndromes, radiculopathies and even Multiple Sclerosis.
